Data Collection and Storage
What Data We Collect
FlowMode collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Browsing Time Data
- Domain names of websites you visit
- Timestamps of when you visit websites
- Duration of time spent on each website
- User Settings
- Domains you choose to block
- Time limits you set for specific domains
- Custom block messages you create
- Extension preferences (tracking enabled/disabled, notifications enabled/disabled)
- Session Data
- Temporary override permissions for time-limited domains (cleared when browser closes)
Where Your Data is Stored
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API.
- No data is transmitted to external servers
- No data is shared with third parties
- No data is collected by 3Strike Labs or any other entity
- Your data never leaves your computer
Data We Do NOT Collect
FlowMode does NOT collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal identifying information (name, email, etc.)
- Browsing history beyond domain-level timing data
- Passwords or credentials
- Credit card or payment information
- Your IP address
- Any data to external servers or analytics services
How We Use Your Data
The data collected is used solely to:
- Track your browsing time - To display statistics showing how much time you spend on different websites
- Enforce blocking rules - To block access to domains you've chosen to block
- Enforce time limits - To limit access to domains when you exceed your specified time limits
- Display analytics - To show you charts and insights about your browsing patterns
All processing happens entirely on your device within the extension.
Data Control and Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
Exporting Your Data
- You can export all your data as a CSV file from the Settings tab
- This allows you to backup or analyze your data externally
Deleting Your Data
- You can clear all extension data at any time using the "Clear All Data" button in Settings
- Uninstalling the extension will automatically delete all stored data
- There is no way to recover data once deleted, as we do not store backups
Modifying Your Data
- You can add or remove blocked domains at any time
- You can modify or delete time limits at any time
- You can disable time tracking entirely in Settings
Permissions Explained
FlowMode requests the following Chrome permissions:
- storage - To save your settings and browsing data locally on your device
- tabs - To track which websites you're visiting for time tracking
- webNavigation - To block domains and enforce time limits
- alarms - To periodically save tracking data and check time limits
- idle - To detect when you're away from your computer (stops time tracking)
- notifications - To show time limit warnings (optional, can be disabled)
These permissions are used solely for the extension's core functionality as described above.
Third-Party Services
FlowMode does NOT use any third-party services, analytics, tracking, or advertising platforms.
Children's Privacy
FlowMode does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. The extension is designed for general use and does not target children specifically.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of FlowMode after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- Your data security depends on your device's security
- We recommend keeping your operating system and browser updated
- Use device encryption if available on your system
